Personal Statement
My name is Francis Volpe, I grew up in Mamaroneck, New York with a single mother named Meryl Volpe. I have been competing in sports that include Football, Hockey, Basketball, and Baseball since I was 5 years old. Football is my number one passion and have always dreamed of playing it at the highest level possible. I have been attending Fordham Prep in Bronx, New York which is a very competitive academic High school where i have received honors in both academics and athletics every year. At Fordham Prep i play both Football and Hockey, and spend the spring season training for the upcoming Football season. I have been playing Varsity Hockey since Sophomore year and Varsity Football since Junior year. Now going in to my Senior year, i am 5'8" 158 pounds, running a 4.6 40 yard dash, 30inch vertical and maxing 260 on bench and around 300 on squat and going to be captain of both Football and Hockey these up coming seasons. I have won a Leadership award and have won 3 athletic awards for my all around performance as an athlete awarded to me by my High School. I absolutely make a presence on the field both on offense, defense, and special teams. I bring a lot to the table, leadership, hard work, and the desire to come out on top, i push those around me to preform at their highest level. Passion isn't just a word i throw around when i say i have passion for Football, i love the sport of Football and will doing anything in my power to play at the highest level that i can compete at. I would prefer to attend college geographically on the east coast, i prefer the colder weather, but can easily deal with hot weather as well. Size of the school isn't that big of an issue for me as long as i am playing competitive football. My realistic goals about playing college are that i know most likely i would be red shirted my first year because coaches would probably want to put some weight on me. But then to have 4 years of successful college football afterwards. I am not one to shout out and say i am D1 FBS caliber football player, but if that opportunity came across i would absolutely take advantage. But i am very open to other schools because where ever i end up i will give that team and coaching staff 100% on and off the field. As i know "Big guys have to prove they CANT and little guys have to prove they CAN."
