As a individual I’m a very hard worker, and I strive to be the best at whatever I do. I was born and raised in Brooklyn New York , where I attended Erasmus Hall high school. Since I was seven I always had a passion for playing football. My last two years at Erasmus my team and I have held 2 PSAL city championships . Aside from my love of football I am a member of our track and field team. While on the track and field team I noticed my strength at shot put and weight throw, despite my main focus on football. overall, I’m a very active guy and love socializing with those closest to me. Not only do l try to push my self, but I make it a point too motivate those around me too.
One of the hardest Decision I had to make last year was cutting off majority of my friends in order to improve myself academically . Before then, I found my self slacking off and wasn’t doing so well grade wise . Although making the decision was difficult, I knew it would benefit me in the long run. As a result, I was surprised to see how well my grades increase exponentially. During this time I learned to prioritize, realizing how important it is to distinguish when it’s time to socialize and when to get serious and put in work.
One of the biggest influence in my life was my Youth coach. As a matter of fact he introduced me to football as a kid and tough me all of what I know now. To this day, my youth coach continue’s to teach me valuable lessons that I can apply moving forward on my path to becoming a black man in society. If I had to pick one quote that I Cherish form my coach, it would have to be “ starve your distractions and Feed your focus”. I’ve always lived by these words and have always admired my coach for his solid leadership and goodness he’s brought towards giving back to his community. As such I hope to become as well of a leader that he’s shown me.
For the future, i hope to play at the next level of football and even study to become a veterinarian. I’ve always had a love for animals, so much to the point learning about them is like Leaning my ABC’s. Even if I end up somewhere in human services, I want a job where I can help others who’s are incapable of helping themselves. Being able to work doing something I love instead of it feeling so much like work means a lot to me. I plan on working hard for what I set my mind too, all while staying true to my self. With as much personal and effort I put forth, I feel like I’d before a good addition to The Hill school.
