Jason Vargas '16 Recruiting Profile

I am a high honor roll WR (as well as a K/P) for Holy Cross High School in Flushing, NY and have many years of experience playing that position, but most importantly I aspire and strive to be the best person I can be -- the best son, brother, friend, mentor, student, athlete, etc.

My current average is 99.67 and I am proud to say I will graduate with an ADVANCED Regents Diploma!

I love sports (especially football), am an extremely strong team player who respects everyone -- teammates, coaches, teachers, friends, strangers, etc. -- and I lead by example.  I work extremely hard both on and off of the field, love being fit, healthy and working out (yes, I actually love working out), and I do not smoke, drink or use drugs (nor do I knowingly hang around or surround myself with people who do).

I am currently undecided as to what my major in college will be as there are several different things that interest me (including mathematics and computer science), but my goal is to get a great education and degree while playing college football as a wide receiver. After getting my college degree my dream is to play professional football, but regardless of whether or not my professional football dream is realized I will continue to work extremely hard. My family has sacrificed so much; through good times and bad they have always supported me -- both on and off of the field -- and I am determined to make both myself and my family proud!
