Personal Statement
My name is Darnell Sutton. I am a junior from Wilson Magnet High School. I consider myself to be a very multi- talented individual. I have been a passionate about the game of football since I was five years old. With the guidance of my older brother and my step father, football just became apart of my everyday life and has been ever since. Started off playing pop Warner for the Southwest Colts and played there until it was time to make the transition from little league to high school. It was different with the having to adjust to a new playbook, new coaches, new teammates. I adjusted rather quick and just played my part to the team.Played strong safety where I averaged 9 tackles per game, recorded 4 forced fumbles and 8 interceptions for the season. Sophomore year was more of an offensive year where I caught 42 passes for 7 touchdowns. My first varsity season, I tore a muscle in my hamstring during spring ball and couldn't play most of the season so I used that year to just focus on maintaining my GPA and getting ready for my senior year. Outside of football, I am passionate writer and math wiz; while also holding down a job as a peer educator at InControl, a non profit teen organization in the inner city of Rochester and recently becoming a bank of america student leader April 2019
