I am a quarterback/cornerback from West Islip, New York. I have been on the West Islip varsity team for two years and was picked as a team leader by the coaching staff and was on first team offense and defense. I am a member of the National Honor Society with a 3.8 GPA in honors and AP classes. I am a family oriented person with a strong sense of community and like to volunteer and give back to those that are less fortunate.
I am 6'00" 175 lbs and run a 4.8 forty. Being from the north east region and not having a full time coach or a large football program, I have committed myself to becoming a better athlete and as competative as those in regions with great football traditions. In addition to the team practices and workouts, I have my own personal quarterback coach, attend speed and strength training on my own, and have traveled outside of my home region to participate in combines such as NUC, ESPN/Underarmour, Ultimate 100, and Top Prospect camps. Meeting student athletes from other areas of the country has been a great experience and has helped me become a better athlete and a more well rounded student. This is an example of my dedication to the team and why I was a game captain. I like to be first on the field and the last one off. I am a team leader on and off the field and like to lead by example. My coach said I was the best kid he ever coached. Character, leadership, a hard work ethic, and heart are traits you can expect from me. As an athlete I am so much more than my stats or game film would indicate. Our team struggled during my varsity years and my personal stats and records were not the priority. The team always comes first and I did whatever my coaching staff asked to help the team improve. I believe that any coach that has the opportunity to meet me and see what I can do in person would be impressed with my ability and leadership skills. I was the schools first recipient of the Citizenship Award, which is awarded to a student with great character and who is a great role model for other students. I started a charity, Lions 4 Life - Do It 4 Danny, for a 5 year old by who has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia to help offset family expenses and I visit with him whenever possible. Our varsity team adopted Danny and he would come to the games and stay on the field with the team.
I am looking for an institution with outstanding acedemics and values with the right balance for sports and the classroom. I have an interest in law and medicine and I am open to different types of schools. It has always been a goel of mine to play football at the college level. I believe I can make an immediate impact on a team and would like to play at the most competative level possible.
