Personal Statement
Dear coaches,
Ever since I began the sport of football I knew that I wanted to take it to the next level so I could play it as long possible. Currently my main goal related to football is to take my skills to the highest competitive college football division. Not only do I want to play college football, but I want to pursue my major entering college somewhere in the business communications and international businesses field and I am willing to play anywhere in the country. I constantly strive as a young individual to push myself to improve with not only my athletic abilities, but also my academic abilities. I always endeavor to working hard and being competitive, staying dedicated to improving myself, and putting pride into my team and my abilities on the field. With a competitive mindset I am looking for a competitive environment, therefore I am looking for a school with competitive athletic or academic programs. Football is my passion but school is also a primary aspect of my life, after football I want to have a stable career.
I will be a great asset for your college/university team as I am a leader between my teammates on and off the field, not only influencing them on the field to be a winning team, but in the weight room, classroom, and even outside of school by influencing them to make the right decisions. Not only do I have leadership qualities, but I also am an all-around, quick, and explosive linebacker that can understand and apply what is being coached to me and have played the sport and developing my understanding of it for the past 8 years. Not only do I have linebacker experience currently being 6'3" & 220 lbs, I played defensive back as a freshman giving me a lot of good covering skills and footwork that I apply to my linebacker position. I am also heavily involved on my high school team for special teams such as kickoff, return, and blocking for field goals.
I am very different from other recruits character wise as I apply myself continuously to improving my teammates abilities and putting myself before others. I have many integrity values like honesty that I constantly follow and always strive to being respectful to others in order to protecting the team's image. I have always been stuck with the commitment value ever since I began playing sports and it is still applied today, especially to my part-time job at Publix which I have held for 3 years. Not only is this job teaching me commitment, loyalty, and responsibility, it is also helping me work on my character traits such as my integrity values and respectfulness. I am constantly in the weigh room and on the field working to improve my athletic ability, yet I am always in the classroom applying myself to maintain my academic grades in my AP and honors courses, while keeping a 4.3 weighted GPA.
