My name is Jackson Sammons. I am currently a Sophomore in my High School career at West Stokes High School in King, NC. I will be graduating in the year 2026. As most high school athletes will agree, we always hope for a future of success that leads us to playing in college. As a child, most can agree that we have always dreamed of playing professionally at some point in our life. The common hope includes playing sports at an upper level. I too have dreamed of playing both in college football and professionally. I am excited to see what my future holds both in academics and athletics. As a Sophomore, I know that it is an early start to being considered for recruiting but I am confident that I have the size, strength, ability and desire to play college football. My goal is to focus on my academics, my sport, my mental and physical development as well as building a SMART plan for my future. While Football is my true love, I am intelligent enough to realize that there are other things in life that are just as important to my overall success. God, Family and Football are what drives me most. As a Sophomore, I have been fortunate enough to maintain a 4.0 GPA in school while also being a starter on Varsity in Football. As a starting lineman, I was blessed to be selected as an All Conference Honorable Mention Player and a First Team All County Player in my Freshman year. I can proudly say that I have never practiced nor competed on the JV platform. I am the only player, in my previous coach's career, that has started from day one on Varsity as a Freshman, in practice and on Friday nights. Thankfully my size, knowledge of the game and the ability to be coached has allowed me to play on both sides of the ball. Some of my highlights from last year were earning the respect, building friendships and having the continued strong support from the upperclassmen. This was also one of the hardest parts to the end of my Freshman season - losing all of these upperclassmen as my teammates. Luckily having them as lifelong friends made it worth it. Unfortunately, the majority of my teammates were Seniors. This season we will be re-building our team with new players and new coaches in my sophomore year. This is something that both challenges me and excites me. I was able to attend camps at UNC-Chapel Hill, Appalachian State, Old Dominium University, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech over the past summer. Each camp was an exciting introduction to each program, their facilities, their environment and the next level of competition. I am eager to speak to more coaches and learn more about their programs, camps and schools to help build my focus for my college career.
