Adam Aiken '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Adam Aiken.    I love the game of football and have been playing the game since I was four years old.  I am drawn to it because of the physical aspects that forces one to develop skills and abilities that require good health, discipline and intellect to be your best.   As I grew older, I learned that mental toughness and studying the game of football helps to make a player a well rounded student of the game.   I learned to push myself while winning or losing to play my best until the final game whistle.  I know about start over and understand that playing in college will probably mean that.  I changed high schools in the 11th grade year from Grassfield High in Virginia and moved to  Raleigh to attend Wakefield High School.   I had to work hard in practice and games to earn and keep my starting spot for my senior year.  This year I surpassed my personal performance goals but I still was not satisfied because I know that I can be even better.  That is why I am looking for an opportunity to play at the collegiate level where my skills and abilities and can reach new heights that not only propel me to towards  graduating with a degree but helps me to best football player I can be to support my team.  

Even though I played mostly at the Defensive End position, I am also willing to play other positions as needed to help out my team.  

I learned something from my dad and his time in the military.  He told me  they practiced as realistically as possible so when the big game occurred like going to war, they would be ready.   He taught me to practice like you want to play.   That is why I always give 110 percent on the practice field each day and give 110 percent for four quarters every game.  This summer (2021) I received  the highest vote count to be Team Captain even though this was my first non- virtual year at Wakefield High. 

 My major stats in 11 games:  74 tackles, 56 solo tackles, 33 tackles for losses and 12 sacks  which leads the team in all categories.

 I won All Conference Honors at Defensive End for 2021.

I have been selected and will start  at Defensive End in the 2021 919 vs 252 East vs West All Star  Game on 18 December 2021.

I have been invited and visited Averette University, SC State University, Elon University and Campbell University.  Received an official offer from Averrete and a verbal offer Campbell.
