Academics, music, and athletics have all been important to me during high school. I am competitive in everything I do, and I have a drive to always improve. I like to win. I want to compete at the highest possible level I can in college.
I competed as a starter at a varsity level in 4 sports (football, basketball, track, and baseball) last year. I was named my high school's male athlete of the year as a junior. I believe competing in 4 sports gives me an advantage over those that may play only one sport because it forces me to compete at a high level throughout the year.
People see me as a leader. I was recently chosen by my peers and coaches to be a captain on the football team.
Besides being an athlete, I understand the technical aspects of the sports in which I compete. I see myself as being a coach in some capacity in the future. I really enjoy helping run sports camps for younger players and helping my teammates to become the best they can be as well.
Academics are very important to me as demonstrated by my GPA and ACT score. Academics will continue to be important to me in college. I have chosen the medical field knowing that it will be challenging and because I would like to work with athletes after I graduate. I have also been successful in music as demonstrated by being selected to all-state band 3 years in a row.
I believe my broad experiences and demonstrated success show my potential to be a valuable wide receiver on any college team.
