Roger Mellen '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Roger Mellen Jr. and I am from Membertou First Nation, Nova Scotia. My mother is a full-time stay at home mother of three and my father is a Chartered Professional Accountant. I am a graduate of the Canadian Armed Forces - Black Bear Program aimed at Indigenous youth and I have completed my Basic Military Qualification training (BMQ). I am still currently employed with the Canadian Army Reserves in Sydney, Nova Scotia. I continue to participate in youth programs to help inspire other Indigenous youth to move forward in our ever-changing society. I am passionate about playing professional football whether it be D1, D2, CFL or NFL. I would like to pursue my education to become a civilian or military police officer.
