Personal Statement
I was young when I first started to play sports. My Dad always said, "Keep your mind where your feet are". As I got older, I realized what he meant. Stay focused on the job and/or sport that I am doing. Whether I am hunting, fishing, training, or at my job, always get my mind and body ready to complete the task at hand. Not everything will come easy. I will have to work harder in areas to achieve my goals. School is one of those areas. I have had to retake classes to earn a better grade. I have worked with a trainer in the off season and attended multiple football camps to get myself ready for my senior year. I am willing to put in the extra effort to achieve my goals on and off the field.
Winning the PAC-7 conference two times in a row is a big highlight that I hope continues my senior year. For all four years, I have played for the winning-est coach in the state of Ohio's history. Coach France has never had a losing season. In the last three years, I have learned if you keep working hard, big things will come your way. "Always play the game, like it is your last game," is a quote from Coach France that will always stay with me.
Duke head coach David Cutcliffe describes Offensive Linemen stats as the the score that shows up on the scoreboard. There are no official stats for Offensive Lineman. My job is my team and making that opening for them to advance the football and ultimately score. As a Center ,on my team, I do not have a backup. I have to stay healthy and physically strong. I am determined to give my team my all to get the win.
