Austin Baker '15 Recruiting Profile

My name is Austin Baker, and I am a junior at Clyde HS. I am a student-athlete who has the three D's to succeed: Desire, Discipline and Dedication. Academically, I work hard to maintain high grades in rigorous college prep classes. I currently have a 3.75 GPA, and I was named to the SBC Academic Team in football for 2012 and 2013. My parents, who are both teachers, are also proud of the fact that I was selected to the National Honor Society. Continuing my education in college is extremely important to me. Getting the chance to prolong my football career at the next level, while maintaining my academic success, is something that I hope to get the opportunity to achieve. I use my strong work ethic to develop myself to be the best I can. In football I made 56 of 59 PAT's and 10 of 10 field goals for the 2013 season. I was selected to the SBC Football Specialist Second Team. My snapper, Conner Garcia, my holder, Eric Wiseman, and the rest of my teammates helped me to be extremely effective. Without teamwork, individuals cannot achieve their highest potential. Our Clyde Fliers were able to defeat Toledo CC in the Ohio Division III Regional Finals by a score of 42 to 41. It took a complete team effort to reach our goal. Athletically, I put in the necessary time to be productive. One of my best examples came in the NFL Punt, Pass and Kick Competition when I was a national runner up as a 15 year old. Flying to Baltimore to compete at the Raven's facility was truly a remarkable opportunity. I hope to add to these experiences by playing in a college football program. I have the desire, discipline and dedication to help any college program achieve its highest potential.
