I am a 6' 3", 210 lb athlete. As a freshman, I started varsity the last two games of the season. As a sophomore, I started the entire year at strong safety, recording 60 tackles before breaking my ankle in game 9. I also returned kickoffs (averaging 17 yrds per return) and played some running back (averaging 7.3 yrds per carry). As a junior , I played safety, running back and emergency quarterback. I had 15 rushing TDs (1225 yrds), 2 passing TDs and one interception. My team went 10-0 in regular season, the first time since 1997. We also hosted and won our first home playoff game in school history. In track, I was All-Ohio in the 4x100 relay, finishing 6th in the state. As a student-athlete, I believe that how you handle anything is how you handle everything.
I was a Scholar Athlete my freshman, sophomore, and junior years. I presently have a 4.0 (4 point scale), am ranked #1 in my class and scored a 29 on the ACT (31 in Math and 33 in English). I also was selected to attend the J. Kyle Braid Leadership Ranch in Colorado. I was elected freshman, sophomore and junior class president. I recently was inducted into the National Honor Society.
Ideally, my athletic goal is to have the opportunity to play football at the highest level, although I love football and would be willing to play at any level. I would also be very interested in the service academy experience.
In deciding on a college to attend, I would strongly take into the consideration its ability to prepare me for my desired major. Although I am not set on one particular major at this point, I believe I would like the opportunity to study the engineering or medical field, particularly civil or aeronautical engineering. As a collegiate athlete, realistically, I want to be able to make a varsity roster my freshman year, and would strive to prepare myself for my junior and senior years. It is also important to me that I would have the supports to achieve academically as well as athletically.
