My name is Erik Lensink. I have had aspirations to play college football since I started playing in second grade. I love the sport, I am committed to the sport, and I can't imagine moving forward in my college education without football. Although education remains my top priority, football ranks a very close second. I would consider it a blessing to be able to do both at the collegate level. My goals for college are simple: Commit myself to a first-class education, be a leader in the classroom and on the football field and help my team compete at a championship level.
I was a defensive starter at outside linebacker as a junior and senior. Although I played both strong and weak side, I most commonly played strong side where I was given the responsibility of calling line adjustments. Through the 2012 season I accumulated 125 tackles and 4 interceptions. Our team finished 8-2 on the season and advanced to the Ohio Division VI State Championship. I was fortunate enough to be named first team All-league and All District Honorable Mention. This year our team is 8-1 heading into the final week and ranked 2nd in our region as we move into the post-season.
As a senior I continue to mentor to the younger players and I've taken over long snapper duties. I've committed myself to getting back to the State Championship and have taken the focus off individual stats in favor of team success. I've uploaded season highlights on Hudl and would be happy to forward game film. In the classroom, I am committed to maintaining/improving my 3.8 GPA.
