Personal Statement
Being converted from quarterback, to wide receiver and free safety, has helped me develop into a better player by learning both sides of the ball. At first, I thought this would be the low point of my football career, but it turned out to be the best move for me and my team. It presented me the opportunity to become a better player and put me into an adverse situation I was able to overcome. I became the starting safety, the offensive captain, and the most targeted wide receiver.
I have been blessed to be part of a football program that believes in a year-round commitment in both the weight room and on the field. I learned through the off-season how to prepare to win, be a leader both vocally and through my actions, and be mentally tough. I am looking to continue my athletic and academic career at a college that is the right fit for me. Through the experience I have had in high school, I believe I will be able to play in college, and contribute to a college football program. Being a two-sport athlete, and being the captain in both sports for my last two seasons of high school, I’ve learned what it means to be a leader.
