Dear College Coaches,
My name is Gemel Dajuan Trent, son of Jeffery Lance Cotheran former FB of the Cincinnati Bengals. I am 17 years old and currently completing my junior year at Pickerington High School Central in Pickerington, Ohio. I am 6'1 and 190lbs. I currently am involved in football and track & field. I have played football and run track as long as I can remember. In both sports I am a letterman. I am 2-year letterman in track and a 1-year letterman in football. Also I am a USATF Junior Olympic All-American. One thing I would have to say that separates me from other athletes is I am a bubbly kid who loves to see people happy. Another thing that sets me apart is I strive for excellence in anything I do. I show this through school projects that needs to be done, a task given to me by my parents, or my coaches telling me to blitz and get up in the quarterback. In any of those situations I get it done quickly with accuracy.
In college I would like to play Division 1 football and Division 1 track. I have been told it’s hard, but I am up for the challenge. When choosing where I would like to attend college, I would have to say California. The reason I chose this location is because I have family stretching from Sacramento to the south side of Los Angeles. Also, another reason is because every time I visit California, as I step off the plane, as the California air hits my face I just feel a sense of happiness. The number one attribute I am looking for in a college is tradition, because if you know anything about Pickerington High School Central, we are all about tradition. I bleed purple and white for my school and team. I stay loyal to our traditions and never second guess them. Loyalty is the second attribute a college must have. And last but most important is pride. On the field and in the classroom. A strong sense of tradition would make me feel right at home.
When I attend the university I choose, I would like to further my studies in International Business and Creative Fashion. I chose these majors because they provide a natural balance to each other. I would like to become a fashion designer someday; and for that I need to know the world of business and trade so that I may make great financial decisions. As a future student athlete, I hope to leave my footprint on the campus I choose to attend, in the classroom and on the field. I want to give back to them for what they have given to me. I will share this wisdom with kids who experience what I have in the future.
Sincerely,
Gemel Trent
