Derek Wendel '11 Recruiting Profile

My name is Derek Wendel, I am Eighteen years old and am still attending high school. I am 6'1", 185 pounds, and have been preparing myself to play football at the next level for several years. My sport is football and I have been playing since grade eight in the position of Quarterback. I have been working extra hard in the classroom so that my opportunities can be to the fullest of my potential. I have been one of the top players on every football team I have played for. I was the MVP of my high school junior varsity team in grade ten. I was also the Wettges Conference MVP for the club team I played for in the summer of grade eleven. My coaches have also played me as a punter, cornerback, and wide receiver because of my coachability and athleticism. I work hard on every down and keep myself in the game mentally and physically. Over the past few years I have been learning to be louder on the field and also to work hard, leading by example. My coaches all see great potential in my play and my position coaches comment on my exceptional mechanics. I am open to any school and will give a chance for everyone to have the opportunity for me to attend their school. I would like to attend either a Division I or Division II school. My potential major includes marketing or massage therapy. I would like to play at the highest level of football that I possibly can. My main goal is to get a quality education so that after college I am able to pursue my interests. I can make a great impact on my coaches and the players that are on the team.
