Yusuf Ahmed '26 Recruiting Profile

As an Immigrant who moved from Nigeria to Canada. There has always been a pressure and expectation to achieve greatness by my peers and family. For the longest time I’ve always been a more academically inclined student and have never been really good at any of the sports I played. I’ve had success in track and field sports in particular shotput and discus but none of these sports has made a larger impact to my life the way football did. 

I never played until high school and from my freshman year to my sophomore year I’ve made significant improvements and I will continue to reach above my potential. Football has taught me that I’m a very competitive person and has turned me from a meek socially anxious boy to giving me friends and community. Through day in and day out training we went from the second worst team in our conference to champions in a year. Being the hardest worker in the room is a quality I will bring to any team but what sets me apart is my analysis and my methodical approach to the game. I believe I have what it takes to play at a college level because I’m a team player who will make my teammates strive to improve, a leader who takes things seriously as well as an addict to the film room who wants to optimize the way I play.
