Personal Statement
Having played football for the past 9 years, I have learned the value of hard work, commitment, character, teamwork, sacrifice and leadership. All values that I use to excel in my academics as well. I have received multiple awards for both my academic and athletic achievements.
On the football field, I am explosive, I have good vision and can read the defense well, I have great footwork and agility and field sense. I am versatile and can play multiple positions (RB, DB, WR, KR) but my primary position is RB. I have been named Captain many times on various teams due to my leadership and work ethic. I lead by example both on and off the field and help my teammates improve while I do, so we can all improve together. I have been on winning teams and losing teams and have learned that character and work ethic are crucial on both. Learning to continue to work hard in the face of adversity builds character and that every situation is an opportunity to learn.
As a multi sport athlete, also playing basketball, I understand that all of these characteristics can be utilized across all sports and in everyday life. I have also learned the importance of time management in order to succeed as a student-athlete. I am working hard so I can find the right school for me both academically and athletically. I continue to work at bettering myself so that I can be an asset for any team that I play for.
