Derek Willis '11 Recruiting Profile

My Name is Derek Willis and I am a Senior football player at Smiths Falls High school. I come from a small farming community but have taken my adventures to many cities before. I stand 6.5 and weigh 350. I play offensive guard/defensive tackle and take good pride in keeping my self physically active in sports. I have played in many different leagues such as NCAFA (City League) and OVFL (Ontario Varsity). I was a starter in both of these leagues and have been known to have a strong voice around my team mates. I always look up to my coaches trying to get as much valuable knowledge out of them as possible. I myself have coached in a local spring league football program and I know how important it is to have good information to pass on to the young athletes so that they may take it with them to improve themselves. I am very solid on the line, I take pride in what I do as offense or defensive player and try to improve with every play. I see my line as family, 5 people that always look out for each other and fight till the end. I'm looking for a school that takes as much pride in their academics as well as their athletics program. My major is in dramatic arts and I do hope to be a teacher some day and would love the opportunity to be coached and taught by people that take time and care in what they do. Every second is a chance to prove yourself and I am willing to earn my position step by step and learn in the process on how to be a better football player and a better person.
