Personal Statement

I have always loved the game of football and it has always been my dream to play at the highest level. I understand that school comes first and will push myself to excel in the classroom and on the field. While I am focusing on school and sports I try to be the best classmate and teammate I can be, always treating everyone with respect. I will do whatever I need to do to excel in sports and in school. It is my personal goal not to just be the best player I can be but also be the best person I can be. I realize it takes a lot of work to become a college football player and outstanding student but I am willing to push myself to make that dream come true.

  • 2021 YC Tiger Football (YC - Tigers 8th Grade Year)
  • Tyler's 7/8 grade Football team went undefeated this year. With a repeating coaching staff of 3 guys who've been with the team since 4th grade - there Tigers were unstoppable. Head Coach Devan Kelley, a former lineman for the Portland State Vikings lead the team again this year with absolute determination and poise. The coaching staff teaches skills and honor on the playing field. Tyler plays both ways and lead his team in tackles and made tremendous efforts in all positions he played, mainly Middle linebacker and full/half back. Tyler is also the leading kicker for the team. He rarely would come out for a break, often only grabbing water during quarter changes and timeouts. Tyler excels in not only being a leader on his team but is one of the biggest hearts and most motivating players, always celebrating other's achievements. He is first to knock someone down on the opposing team and then turn around to help offer a hand to pick them back up. Tyler makes friends with players of other teams very easily and is often heard giving even opponents a pat on the shoulder pads telling them "good job." He not only enjoys the comradery of his own teammates but the competition as well. He's played with or against many of the same players over the last several years. Other teams either like to play against Tyler, or they fear his intensity to never let them off the hook easy. Tyler is an intense player, always striving to be the best he can be on and off the field.
