Thank you for the opportunity to introduce myself to you, as well as to what are the best attributes that define my character. My name is Zac Evans and I am a 5'10', 200 lb. junior, at Wilkes Barre Area's James M. Coughlin High School. I am currently benching 325 lbs.,squatting 405 lbs., and dead lifting 435 lbs.,am right handed, and play the positions of starting fullback, halfback, starting inside linebacker,as well as outside linebacker. I am open to all colleges/universities at this point. My major in college will be engineering.
I firmly believe that a player's on field demeanor can give any coach a look into what "drives" an athelete or what may be any underlying issues in his character. There are three fundamental athletic qualities that define my playing ability, as well as define me as a person. My playing abilities rest on resiliency, work ethic, and accountability.
In the game of football, as well as in life, nothing ever goes as planned. If there is one thing that each of us can count on it is facing adversity. In an effort to rise to the challenges of adversity, I rely on the heart of resiliency and being determined to "get back up and try again". In football, athletes must have a strong sense of resiliency to make something happen when nothing seems possible.
To be your best, you must prepare! Nothing great has ever been achieved without the will to prepare and the convictions of a strong work ethic. Football seasons are not necessarily defined in-season, but are "forged" in the off-season. What my physical and mental condition is at the start of the season is my responsibility and mine alone. This thought process is the foundation for the strength of my other qualities.
The last characteristic which defines me rests within accountability. An athlete who is worth "anything" is one who can look themselves in the mirror everyday and understand that they are responsible for themselves. Many athletes have littered the football fields with great talent, only to see issues and a lack of self-control ruin their abilities. Excuses are not part of my vocabulary. As part of accountability, I am an athlete who is coachable and truly understands the concepts of teamwork.
How I preform on the field is a reflection of myself and the characteristics which define me. Therefore, I believe all athletes must pursue their own destiny, write their own blue-print, and follow the course they themselves have set to become the best at what they want to achieve.
