My name is Taylon Kessler class of 2022. I attend Aledo High School in Aledo, Texas. I play football on the freshman orange team. I was starting safety on defense and on the offensive side of the ball, I was the running back. I made the freshman A team basketball team. I play freshman baseball as a centerfielder for the Bearcats. I ran track in 4x100. and the 4x200, as well as, jumping in the long jump and triple jump for the JV team. The entire year while doing those activities, I maintained a 3.0 for the year. I hope to one day to go to college and further my education, to one day be a coach.
The Friday, my mom got released from the doctor from having me, we headed to San Antonio for my sister to compete in NCAA nationals cheerleading competition. I spent the weekend with thousands of cheerleaders and then headed to Austin for my brother’s soccer competition. There was no turning back from that point. I knew competition, sacrifice, and dedication at a young age.
There were weekends I played soccer, football, and baseball. I loved every minute of the competition. Each team had different personalities, and different goals. The ability to get along with others and being able to take directions from multiple coaches is something that will set me apart from many prospects. The fact that I was never coached by my father or his friends, made me have to earn my position. It also taught me that there are certain things you can control and other things you can not. The fact there is always someone bigger or stronger is something I can’t control so I concentrate more on the things I can control such as my attitude, my respect for others, and my hard work.
