Zach Horner '19 Recruiting Profile

I started going to the school I'm at my 6th grade year. That same year, our high school football team made it to the state playoff game for the first time in our school's history. My older brother played on that team and he said it was an indescribable experience to walk out onto the field at Cowboys Stadium and play the game my whole family loves. We didn't win that night, but it gave our school a feeling of pride and accomplishment to get that far in the play-off run. Our team hasn't made it that far in the playoffs since then, but we're building our team back up with high hopes of making it back to a state championship game. 

Our athletic department focuses on teamwork, and our coaches expect a full commitment to sports from every member of our team, and for us to perform 100% in everything we do, whether it's on the field or in the classroom. I am looking for a program that will allow me to excel not only academically, but in football. I have a love and deep respect for the game of football and have the work ethic, character, and leadership skills needed to compete at the next level. I was a team captain of my JV team this year and that allowed me to expand on my leadership skills. I work hard in the classroom and will use any and all tools available to me to excel as a student.
