Christian Newman '12 Recruiting Profile

I love football and playing in an intense environment such as running back. Unfortunately I started playing football my sophmore year because I had been home schooled for most of my life. I started the year with very little experience. My Junior year was a big improvement yet my coaches didn't see to it that I was moved up to varsity. I might have gotten moved up if I hadn't broken my thumb which resulted in a huge cast on my hand. I played with my cast on JV and I think the coaches doubted my ability to hold on to and catch the football in my condition. I understand that I am not at my top potential but I am willing to work towards that goal. I love running the ball especially in the I-formation because of the opportunity for acceleration before I hit the line of scrimmage. I can perform anywhere but I prefer to play in warmer climates. I will play for any college that will provide a quality education. My goal my senior year is to bring a new level of toughness and energy to my team and to encourage the underclassmen to play harder as well. I am not the loudest or the most outgoing but when it comes to putting the work in I am your guy.
