Matthew "Bam" Bennett '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Matthew “Bam” Bennett. I include my full name because my mom says, “They need to know your God-given name too.” My parents nicknamed me after Bam Bam from the Flintstones, and once I started playing sports it just stuck as “BAM”. I started playing sports at the age of three. I have played soccer, baseball, and basketball but there was and always has been something special about football. At my very first football practice in 2^nd grade, the coach asked who wanted to be the quarterback. I was the only one that raised my hand. 

I am an overall quite person, but every time I step on the field, I come alive. As the leader of the team, I always give 110% thus, in return my teammates give 110%. Being a leader through the wins is easy. Being a leader through the losses is what keeps your teammates giving there all. I rise to any challenge that presents itself… I began my freshman year at a new school switching from public school to private school. Academically, I faced adversity keeping up with the curriculum. But with hard work and determination I finished my freshman year strong with grades I am proud of. I am looking for a program that will be good for me athletically and academically. I believe that not only my talent, but my character plus my work-ethic as well as my leadership skills will make an immediate impact on your program.
