Pursuing my dreams and supporting my family through my education is something I take to heart. Playing college football is not just a goal for me; it’s a passion that fuels my ambition. My oldest brother, Dalvin, has been my greatest inspiration. He introduced me to the game when I was young, and his unwavering passion for football ignited my own. I admire him not only for his skills on the field but also for the sacrifices he made for our family, often putting his own dreams on hold for our sake. His selflessness drives me to ensure that his sacrifices were not in vain. I’m determined to fulfill our shared dream of success in football, and I’m ready to put in the work.
My journey in football began in the ninth grade when I played wide receiver for the first time. Honestly, I felt like I was always playing second fiddle on the team; I wasn’t the best receiver, but that ignited a fire within me. Even though I was new to the position, I embraced the challenge. That summer, I dedicated myself to improving my skills, focusing on my route running and hand coordination. I already had the speed, but I knew that wasn’t enough. I spent countless hours at my high school’s strength and conditioning program, working on what I could control—my speed, my routes, and my catches.
As I moved into tenth grade, things began to shift. In the first two games of the season, I played JV but practiced alongside the varsity team. I was called up to varsity for the next five games. While I didn’t get much playing time, I learned so much just by being in that environment, even if I was overshadowed by the senior receivers above me. I may not have had a lot of films. Still, every moment on that field added to my experience and determination to improve. I’m ready to keep pushing forward and make my mark in the game I love.
