Personal Statement

I feel I am an outstanding, hardworking, motivated athlete. I have played sports since I was 6 years old. I have always played with guys older than me so it has made me tough. I am 6 feet and weigh approx. 225 lbs. For a runningback I feel I am quick 4.36 (40)and I love competition. Throughout all of my athletic years I have felt I have always been the one to work well with others trying very hard to keep positive and motivate my team mates. I am a hard worker on the field as well as off the field. I have brought my grade point average up to acceptable academic standards and I am continuing to strive to bring it up higher and higher. I have always been a competitive person. I believe what you put into hard work you see in the results. I have not narrowed down a school of choice at this time. I am a Christian and I believe I will receive the fruits of my labor. I dream of one day playing in the NFL, but at this time I have to keep my head on straight and focus on the here and now. My family is my backbone, I have a younger sibling that had downs syndrome that means the world to me. The field of study I would like to take in college is something dealing with sociology, hoping to one day mentor, tutor, encourage and enlighten society about the hard dealings of people with disabilities. Not just downs but all sorts of disabilities. Financially I am sure my family can't afford to pay fully for me to attend college so I will need financial aid. If necessary I will apply for grants or financial aid whatever I have to do to attend college. As an athlete I want to play for a coach that believes in his players, motivates his players, has a great accomplishment record and wants what is best for his athletes. I want to attend a school that is stimulating for both academic and athletic needs to me.
