Karl R. Gibson II '17 Recruiting Profile

Hello, I am Karl Gibson II

I'm, 5'-11",200 lbs. power running back and defensive athlete.I have accomplished many academics goals I was ranked #1 in my freshman and sophomore academically with a 4.3 weighted GPA. I was appointed to the National Society of High School Scholar, all of my classes are advanced placement which I maintain a A-B honors. Also, I've made perfect attendance since the 2nd grade. I feel with the proper guidance and mentoring I will be an exceptional student-athlete. I feel that I am academically ready for the challenges that are before me.

Athletically, my experience goes as for back as 8 years of age going to the AAU Jr. Olympic 5 times up until my high school years. Since the start of my freshman year I started on defense and both sides of the ball my sophomore year.  As freshmen I earned 2nd  team all-district honors on Defense and my sophomore I received 2nd team all-district Defense, honorable mention at running back and HS All-Star honorable mention at running back. I was also a regional qualifier in track / field and power lifting during my freshman year. These first two years where amazing, it will help me set higher goals for the rest of my high school career.  My junior year was my best year leading the Mathis Pirates to the state semi finals, making it to state in powerlifting for my second consecutive year, and to regionals in track my third consecutive year.   

My family is my backbone because of that I am grateful. My father and mother raised me to be respectful, honorable and humble. I believe this allows me to be coachable, determined and focused.
