Hunter Curl '22 Recruiting Profile

I, Hunter Curl, feel I possess many qualities that dignify a person of great character that would be beneficial for any collegiate team.  Growing up in a leadership role, such as football quarterback and captain, I have proven to many my ability to face challenges via leading by example.  As the team captain, I feel my character has proven to be first and foremost respectful towards my coaches, my teammates, our rival team members and especially officials officiating the game.  Providing that respect towards others, in turn, creates respect for yourself. 

As a student at McAllen High School, I do not feel I am easily influenced by others as I have been the type of person who leads by example since a very young age.  I believe being in the role of team captain as quarterback, has provided me with the opportunity to lead by example. Many feel leaders have IT ALL and have no problems!  At times, I do believe I have increased pressure as many look up to me as a role model, including teammates, classroom peers, and children at the elementary level.  When a leader, as myself, does not belittle others, is not boastful about their accomplishments, continues to stay humble, and saying NO to drugs, such as vaping, proves a positive influence to others.  By continuing to smile to all types of people in the hallways of my high school and saying “No” when offered anytime of drug, is a small token of a friendly greeting along with a leader staying true to their words.  Furthermore, the importance of dedication to your studies in addition to your team show your overall commitment to the organization.  This allows me to positively influence others as my academic achievements have proven to show my commitment to a team.  My goal is to advance the organization to the next level and win the championship which takes TEAMWORK; however starting off with a leader leading  by example, is what I possess and will continue to show on that field. By earning All District 1st Team Quarterback, will only make me work harder to prove I will continue to achieve to be the best quarterback for that organization and amongst other organizations.
