My name is Taylor Radcliffe and I am a senior at Kelso High School in Kelso, Washington. I have been playing football since I was 8 years old. My dream as a kid and now my goal as a young adult has been to play college football. I have always worked hard in the off season to better myself starting in my middle school years of 7th and 8th grade. It paid off by starting my sophomore year as a corner back for the varsity football team that finished the year 7th in state in class AAA division. I ended the year with 8 interceptions.
Earlier that same year, I was the starting shortstop and lead off hitter for our 15 year old Babe Ruth All Star baseball team that won a place in the Babe Ruth World Series in Arkansas. Even though we didn't win it was a great experience and gave me chance to see a group of athletes around the nation that were the best at what they did.
Currently, I am starting running back and corner back on Kelso's varsity football team. We are 6-1 and literally an extra point field goal away from 7-0. I sat out one game midseason with tendon strained on the bottom of my right foot. In 6 games however, I have scored 12 touchdowns and rushed for over 800 yards. Last week I rushed for 214 yards and 3 touchdowns by halftime!
I love to play baseball but my passion is football. If I do get a chance to play at the next level I know it will be from a result of hours and hours of hard work, focus, and a sincere belief that I can contribute to any quality organization that is committed to winning.
Lastly, I place right below my dream of playing football the opportunity of earning a quality education. Things being as they are, I understand the fact that to succeed after my athletic days are gone, a college degree is a powerful foundation and tool to a rewarding life and career.
