I am a student at Bishop Blanchet High School (class of 2012), which is a highly ranked college prep school. I have been a three-sport athlete (football, wrestling and baseball) all through high school.
In wrestling I have been Varsity since my freshman year at the 189 lb class. My sophomore year I earned all league honors and took 6th place at State. This year, as a captain, my record was 41-1, I was named the Outstanding Wrestler for my league, and I took second place at State (match went to sudden death overtime). I was named team MVP both my sophomore and junior years. I have also had multiple honors in my baseball career, but football is where my passion lies.
My freshman year I was the starting QB, OLB and kicker and received the Rookie of the Year Award. My sophomore year I was the starting varsity OLB and FB, and received the Mr. Sophomore Award. My junior year I started at varsity OLB, TE, K and P. I received all league 1st Team honors in all four of these positions as well as top player team awards. My upcoming senior year, the coach has moved me to quarterback and I will continue to play linebacker and kick.
I am 6’2” and 200 pounds, run a 4.62 – 40 yard dash and have room to become bigger, stronger and faster. I am the team captain for both the football and wrestling teams. I believe that in order to perform at the highest levels in sports you have to put in the time off-season and in the evenings, not only to stay sharp, but to improve more than your competition. I know that it takes more than just showing up to practice to obtain your goals. My goals for my senior year are to be a state champion in wrestling and go deep in the playoffs in football.
My GPA is 3.42 (includes honors classes) based on a 4.0 scale at a college prep school where 100% of the class of 2011 will go to college. I scored a 1920 on the SAT test and I am scheduled for the ACT on June 4th. I am very interested in pursuing a career in sports medicine, and plan to major in pre-med studies.
I want an opportunity to compete at the highest level I am able. Whether that is D-1 or D-3, I want to play and contribute on a team with a winning attitude, and whose goal is to win championships. My father, who works in the internet industry, created a website for my season highlights, summer camp workout videos and personal bio information. Please review and contact me or my parents if you have any questions; I would love to hear from you. The site is: www.peterjohnson.golfservers.net
