I stood on stage at my pre-school graduation, so proud, chest out and declared that I was going to be a football player when I grew up. Growing up I was always bigger than everyone, always out of place and bullied for my size. From a young age I was introduced to the game from an obsessed football fan, my Grandpa. My Grandpa and Dad finally convinced my mom that it would be good for me. I started playing for a team in 4th grade for a local league CCYF Thunder. I remember stepping on the field and meeting my lineman coach Korey Kier. When I got on the football field, coaches noticed my size. It was a good thing. I was no longer bullied, I was encouraged and felt a part of a family. Football made me find my confidence in who I am.
What makes me a good candidate is my foundation. I was raised to be coach-able and a good teammate. I put heart and respect into everything I do. This has been a dream of mine since I was on the pre-school stage to play at the college level and be able to receive an education.
I believe what makes me different from my other recruits is my loyalty, adaptability and willingness to do whatever it takes to obtain my dream. I won't ever take the moments for granted.
