3 reasons why I am a good candidate: 1. My DNA 2. Football Achievements 3. Motivation
DNA-I am a good candidate because quite frankly it is in my DNA. In the picture above I am wearing my great grandpas letterman's sweater from UW in the 1930's. My great great grandpa played for George Halas at Chicago University and my father played at Boise State. I am different from others because it is my legacy to work harder than others and to achieve excellence in everything I do. I understand the game and want to win. Another great grandpa had the 220 yard dash record for the city of Tacoma, and ran track at WSU. My mom played basketball at Concordia University. My grandpa was the head football coach at Goldendale, Montesano and Raymond high schools. My father also has been the Defensive Coordinator for Woodland High the last 20 years. It quite frankly is in my DNA.
Football-I was a first team all league wide receiver as a freshman in the competitive 2A GSHL. As a frosh I was voted all classification all area by the Longview Daily News. My soph. year I broke the school record at Woodland High for receptions, while also having a 200 yard rushing game, and picking up my 9th career interception on defense and scored 3 touchdowns on Kickoff returns. The Columbian which covers all of southwest Washington including Camas, Skyview, Union, Hockinson, and many other quality schools named me to the all area team as the areas top kick returner. As a sophomore I again was voted all Area 1st team Longview Daily News, this time classified as an athlete and was also3 reasons why I am a good candidate: 1. My DNA 2. Football Achievements 3. Woodland named me the most valuable defensive player for varsity as a freshman and overall MVP of the team as a sophomore.
Motivation-During my seventh grade year, I broke my leg our first game and had to sit out the rest of the season. This was a huge learning experience and helped shape me to be the person I am today. Breaking my leg made me realize the role football plays in my life and how quickly it can be taken away. I learned to put school first and focus more on academics because…..
That competitive edge I have in the game not only drives me on the field, but in life too. I feel the need to be successful in everything I do. I set myself high goals and my competitiveness pushes me to do well and achieve them.
