My name is JJ Waldhuetter and I have been playing the game of football for six years. As of right now I'm looking if continuing my football career would be in my best interest for my future goals. Over this last season I believe I have shown my commitment to the team and versatility by being asked to change positions four times. When the season started I was originally playing free safety, then moved to wide receiver, then to outside linebacker then to tight end where I ended up starting towards the end of the season. At the tight end position I feel like I emerged as being able to show reliable hands and finding ways to get open, which one can see by my leading the team in receiving touchdowns this season. Football however, is not my whole life. I plan to pursue a career in law enforcement after I graduate from whatever college I will be attending. I have also taken several steps to try and make myself stand out more compared to other candidates. I have been involved in the Sheboygan Police Explorers, post 2881, for the past year and have been promoted to the position of Sergeant. In the post we go over different types of scenarios law enforcement officers might face, go out in the community and aid the police department in anything they may ask of us, and competing in state wide competitions. I also had the privilege this past summer of being accepted to the Wisconsin American Legion Law Enforcement Career Academy. WALLECA was a program that accepted 40 kids in the state of Wisconsin to attend the Wisconsin State Patrol Academy at Fort McCoy where we would essentially have the entire state trooper training fit into the span of one week. Needless to say, a good law enforcement program is very important to me. I believe that football could help me stay in shape, build leadership, and allow me to continue to play the game that I have fallen in love with. I am looking forward to talking with anyone who would be interested in contacting me with any questions, concerns, or comments about me playing football at the next level!
