Some details that have really impacted my life as a person and a football player is my brothers. They have influenced many of the decisions I’ve made in my life. Both of them were good athletes and one even went to college and played football in college. They have been very influential because I have always wanted to be better than them. That is why I wake up every morning, everyday and push myself, to hopefully be given a chance to out shine them and make them all proud. Going to college to play football isn’t the only reason, I want to go to outshine my brothers, to make them proud, and to show what a quiet kid from Kenosha, Wisconsin can do. I want to prepare myself with a degree and experience that will help me succeed 10, 20, 30 years from when I graduate. I would like to be able to provide for a family years from now and not have them worry about anything.
Something I have been able to learn about myself while playing football in high school is how much of a comradery you form in with your teammates. I have formed some of the strongest bonds with my teammates. We are all great friends and this bond will only help us when the bullets are flying and we need to rely on each other. An obstacle I have needed to overcome in high school is to be able to come out of my shell. I have always been more of a quiet person and stuck to myself while getting my work done. Since being a starter as a sophomore and a junior captain, I’ve needed to come out more and take more control. I’ve needed to become more of a vocal leader while leading by example. Everyday I work more and more to be able to be the leader that everyone can look to when times aren’t going well.
With everything that I have learned over my young life, I feel as if i have grown into a person who can be relied upon. A young adult who will continue to find ways to grow as a football player and an all around person. I look forward to continue my journey wherever it take me.
