A new coaching staff was put in place during my senior year, and I was asked to to play a prominent leadership role on our team, as I was the only returning starter in the backfield. Besides starting at halfback, I was also the starting left defensive end.
Until the 7th game of the season, I played 99% of the downs on both sides of the ball. At that time, I suffered a sprained MCL. I returned to play every week thereafter, but saw my carries drop on offense as it became difficult to carry the ball full speed and play both ways with the injury. I continued to play every down on defense, even after re-spraining my knee. During the last playoff game, I was asked to play tight end when we were having trouble moving the ball. We scored, but I suffered a cracked tibia on the play.
With the cast off my lower leg and my knee 100% healed, I am off to a 6-1 start to the wrestling season, missing only one dual meet and one weekend tournement.
I was voted All-Conference running back and also All-Conference defensive end in the CWC-8. On the nomination list, my head coach wrote in the comment section that I was a smart, heady player that plays with a lot of heart. I am very proud of that, and believed that I gave everything I had to the success of the team whatever I was called upon to do. I never missed a practice the last 3 years of varsity football, and suited up even when injured. I consider myself an excellent teammate, and enjoy watching my teammates succeed as I try to do so myself.
I am looking to attend a college somewhere in the midwest, south, or east. Although playing football is a priority, I will need to consider the schools that can offer the best financial assistance. I have a brother in college, and also two younger siblings that will be near college age soon. My primary area of interest at the moment in the medical science field.
From a football prespective, I hope to play early, and hope to play on the offensive side of the ball. As the starting 2 back in our offense, I wasn't able to line up as a receiver very often. However, I believe it is a position that best fits my size and skills, along with running back. My highlght video showcases my better catches during my junior and senior seasons, and also includes what I consider my better runs. I have more highlight video available if requested.
