To be honest high school football was a rough start for me. I was an average player freshman year and moved around a lot with different positions. Sophomore year I wasn't able to play because of an an infection, but still put in the work. After that, I knew I had to work hard to be able to make a difference on the team. Junior year I spent almost every day in the weight room and focused on strength and agility. I always wanted to play defensive tackle and knew I had to work hard to get it.
When I got the chance to play defensive tackle, I played it like a bulldog and never turned back. It was the most fun I've ever had in football. I ended my senior year unanimously voted first team all conference.
How I see it, is that I finally found the position that best suites me. I'm not ready to be done with my favorite sport. I have much more to give and all I want is a chance to show that I have the capability and the will power to do more than I have done. I have learned to fight through adversity and have the talent and leadership skills to compete for a college team.
