Diego Schmitt '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Diego Schmitt and I've been playing football since first grade. We had a youth program called Junior Redbirds that consisted of two years of flag followed by four years of tackle before my middle school years. Since that time I have aspired to play at the collegiate level because of my love for the sport. As a high school player I help coach this youth program to give back to the community.  I strive to be a leader setting great examples for these younger players.

I am a three sport athlete and I know what it takes to be dedicated in the classroom room and still continue to be a leader while properly managing my time for my academics. I am a very coachable athlete in any sport and strive to be one of the hardest working players and practice as hard as I play.  I want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of competition possible.

A little bit about myself off the field! In my spare time I enjoy deer hunting, turkey hunting, and lifting weights. During the summer I spend a lot of time at our cabin fishing and doing watersports. 

I'm really excited to find the right college that will fit me athletically and also academically!
