I have a desire to succeed on and off the field. I went through a period of time where I had serious doubt about my abilities and what I was capable of doing. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and was sick for so long I never thought I would ever feel better again, then I got my disease under control and found a passion for kicking. I didn't start kicking until my sophomore year and have been told I was too far behind to start playing now, but I was determined to not let that deter me. I have been through a lot with my disease at such a young age, but it has built up my character and I have preserved. I have found that I am responsible, courageous, confident and I have also earned compassion and humility. Even though the cards were stacked against me, I am still doing well in school, I am committed to weight lifting and conditioning and taking care of myself physically and emotionally.
