I love the challenges that football makes me face, from learning new plays to playing injured and persevering. I have played football since I was in 1st grade, starting with flag football and moving into tackle. It has always been fun and challenging. I love the comradery of the team. I have played with several of my high school teammates since we were little and that makes it easier to trust what they are doing. On our team we go by the motto EAT, meaning effort, attitude, and toughness. If one of you is not putting in the effort because you have a bad attitude, then the rest of the team is going to fall apart. That saying that, "one person can ruin it for everyone", truly fits with a team that is relying on each other.
My parents have instilled in me and my brothers that when you start something, you finish it. Our football season this year is not what I wanted it to be. I have not even come close to the yards I wanted or needed. I really wanted to call it quits, but my parents would not let me give up and said that I needed to finish out what I started. They have never let us quit anything that we started, even when we wanted to. My big brother and I have been told throughout our football career that we were too small to play and that we would never play college football. My brother is playing college ball and I will be too! Our determination is what sets us apart.
