During my freshman year I was able to finish the last 12 games of the season on varsity. This experience allowed me to learn from many players who are now playing in college. The following season, after those players graduated, my team was left with only a few returning varsity players. Beginning my sophomore year my role had to change, I had the most experience as a varsity player. I became a better leader and teammate. Playing a 7A varsity schedule with sophomores and freshmen was a struggle, especially at the start of the season. During this time I realized my commitment to basketball. Rather than wanting to quit, I wanted to get in the gym and put in work. I finished the last 10 game stretch averaging 16 points per game. This year I was able to help my team to 21 wins and the first playoff appearance since 2013. I was also able to lead the team in scoring for the 2nd year in a row. I am looking for a college where I can receive a quality education, be a part of a team that believes in me, and will make me a better player and person.
