The asset that I bring to sports is my determination and commitment to putting forth 100% effort. I have demonstrated this trait in the wide variety of sports that I have played throughout my youth. To be well rounded, I have always been involved in many sports, (on top of the sports listed below: Ecole Coloniale Estates School - School Soccer Team , High Jump Team, Track Team, Assistant Coach of Elementary school team, volunteer referee for elementary games, School Flag Rugby team, and community midget inline hockey). As I neared entering into high school, I narrowed down my interest to those sports which my high school offers. In Grade 10, I made the Senior High Volleyball Team, as a Middle. I also played on my Senior High Basketball Team as a shooting guard. I made the Senior High Handball Team and School Track Team specializing in the 400 and 800 m run. I played high level ice hockey and travelled throughout North America with my spring AAA hockey team. I retired from hockey to focus on school sports in my Grade 10 year. Now, in Grade 11, I just completed the season playing Senior Volleyball, and plan to play Handball and compete on the school Track Team, when their seasons occur in the spring. I am currently, a team captain for the Senior High Basketball Team.
I was selected to play on our Provincial U16 basketball team and our team won Gold in the Western Canadian Games in the summer of 2019. I was also invited to try out for the Canadian U17 men basketball team this fall.
Academically, I am an engaged participant in my classes. I had studied in the French Immersion program beginning in my kindergarten year, and took my classes in French up until June of Grade 10. I am bilingual because of my education in French. I currently, am transitioning to primarily English courses to complete my Grade 11 and Grade 12 years.
Throughout my athletic and academic years, I have received a variety of awards and accolades. I have received Certificates of Excellence in Provincial Achievement tests in Grade 3, 6, and 9. I received an academic award in the Awards Ceremony at Ross Sheppard High School at the conclusion of Grade 10. I have received various Most Valuable Player awards throughout my years in hockey and have competed in provincial playoffs in several seasons. I have received Most Valuable Player accolades in Basketball throughout my many years playing basketball. I received minor athletic awards for my participation in Senior Sports teams while being a Grade 10 student at Ross Sheppard High. I am most proud of receiving the Grade 10, "Sportsman of the Year" Athletic Award, which is awarded to one Grade 10 male each year.
Throughout my various sports, I have always maintained an attitude of good sportsmanship while being a competitor. I do not get intimidated by opponents and rise to the challenge when faced with tough opponents, and regularly seek to guard the best player. I have a respectful attitude towards my coaches, teammates, opponents, and officials. I compete 100% on the court but do not sacrifice respect.
