Jose Olivarez '16 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jose Olivarez. I have been playing basketball since elementary school. I am currently a sophomore at Casa Grande Union High School. I am the starting shooting guard for our varsity basketball team. I have been on the varsity team since my freshman year. I am capable of playing any position on the court. My strengths are catching and shooting and pulling up and shooting on fast breaks. I can create my own shot and I can get to the basket. I am loyal to the game and my team. I am a diligent and fair player. I am realistic about my skills and welcome others evaluations. I have a strong presence on and off the court. I know that I am capable of great things. Everyday I look for ways to better myself as a student, athlete, and person. I also do all that I can to motivate my teammates and encourage team spirit and confidence. 
As a student, I am rarely absent for class. I  participate in class discussions, I am punctual with assignments and work to maintain a good relationship with teachers and school staff. I am respectful of others and obey the rules provided to me. 
My ultimate goal is to continue to play basketball as long as I possibly can. I plan to play basketball throughout my college years while I work towards becoming an Orthodontist. After college I would like to stay involved with sports by coaching a local youth basketball team.
