Basketball is my life... I was always counted out, and told I would never be a basketball player because I wasn't built like one. But I never stopped practicing, or playing. I have had my share of time on the bench, but I always stayed in a gym, shooting, ball handling, working! I worked my way up to varsity, as a junior, earning a starting position, after having to sit out for 11 games because my Mom had to move, and still, I beat out kids in the region, earning ALL REGION Leaderboard Honors for blocks, rebounds, and steals. As a freshman I played both freshman and jv, earning the title of Lock Down. I have earned Best Defense recognition at the Steve Fisher camp at SDSU, as well as at Phenom 150 in San Diego, where I helped my team go 5-0 in game play. I am a good person, and have survived everything that was mean to break me- my father leaving us, my baby brother's death in 2011, my mom being a single mom and not being able to afford to put me on the best club teams. I am humble, but I am also a beast on the court. I finally hit a growth spurt in high school and Im now 6 foot 2 but I play like Im 7 foot. Im fearless, aggressive, and coachable. And Im fast, sometimes too fast for my own good. But I have really worked on knowing how and when to switch gears, and Im coming into my best time now. I enjoy debates, and encouraging others, which makes me a great leader on and off the court. I always get complimented for helping the under dog or the outcast, but its how I was raised- and I just want to play ball and get my education. Ill earn everything, as I always have. I just need an opportunity, and a coach who will invest his time in me. Thank you~ Isaiah aka Zay or Chap
