Damien Luna '16 Recruiting Profile

Hello my Name is Damien Luna I am 5'9,145pounds. I am Combo guard. I am always very passionate about being the best at everything I do in academics or athletics. I love the game of basketball I have been playing since the age of 3 and my dream is to play at the collegiate level. Awards I have receive as of to date 3 time MVP in the southwest showcase, 2 time AAU state champion, and 3 time CAA (Canyon Athletic Association) All star, and most recently to date Named 1st team all state player. Academically my GPA is 3.6. I will be taking my SAT and ACT in the fall of 2015.I'm very involved in volunteer community activities such as The Light Parade for APS and distributing turkeys to less fortunate. I enjoy giving back to the community when time permits. I believe I'm a great athlete, and can be an even better. I am currently a junior at Imagine prep in Surprise, AZ. As a student and a basketball player several things I have learned about myself , I enjoy intense preparation and working with a team toward a common goal even where there is little personal award or recognition to be found. I have learned to always remain persistent in this mist of disappointments, like the competitive team environment even when I'm not the only gifted and talented players. In turn I have taken these things and applied them to my academics as, there are all things I can apply in my everyday life and future career. I am very coach able, and teachable there is a difference in the two. I have a high basketball IQ and can make plays when they are needed. I enjoy and love playing against different competition and continually strive to polish my skills every day to continue to be very well rounded in the game and in life. I am a point guard with playing experience at the varsity level in both point guard and shooting guard positions and feed of peoples intensity.
