Spencer Clausen '24 Recruiting Profile

I am a 17 year old Senior at Camarillo High School this year. I originally became interested in basketball at 5 years old and started playing at the local YMCA. That led to playing club basketball starting at the age of 8. I enjoy the speed of the game and that it is a team sport. I have played multiple club sports over the years but basketball is the one I love.

I currently play AAU for OGP Kings and am a starter for Varsity at my High School. I previously played on my Middle School Team as well. As a 6th grader I was invited to tryout for the middle school team and made it to the final cut but ultimately did not get chosen to play that year. This motivated me to work even harder and I later started for my middle school team. Playing multiple teams has helped me develop my knowledge of the game, has made me able to adapt to different rolls, and has increased my quick decision making skills on the court. I am a team first player with good court vision, I have great endurance and am a good leader, communicating to my teammates on the court. I am a diverse hustle player, strong on defense, and can knock down shots with a quick release in the paint and from the perimeter. 

I have attended several camps over the last few years and I train 5 days a week to continue to improve my skills. Through playing basketball I have learned to be disciplined and work hard for the things I want in life. I am committed to success both on the court and in the classroom. I look forward to continuing to play basketball at the next level.
