Micah Bondon '13 Recruiting Profile

Hello readers, my name is Micah Bondon. I am a dedicated athlete to the game of basketball. It is what I do day in and day out. I am currently a Junior at Chester Junior/Senior High School in a small town named Chester California. I like to think that I put sports over academics, but we need academics for sports unfortunately. I am a gifted basketball player i like to think. I have been playing since i could walk. Ever since I was young my parents have told me I would always have a basketball in my hand and would try to shoot on something that could be turned into a basketball hoop. Here in chester, the youngest you can start playing basketball is in fifth grade. But when fifth grade season came around, i already thought of myself as a star. When i hit the court the coaches in high school were looking at me and one specifically told me he was waiting for me to become a freshman so i could play. I dont have a lot of honors in my younger years other than a lot of good stats games. Im not able to tell you my PPG in 5th-8th cause honestly i dont remember. But i was always moved up to the next level in each of my grades. In fifth i got moved up to a 6th graders only tournament and started on that team. Every year eligible i was able to move up to the next grade to participate in a very competitive tournament in Loyalton and helped them recieve a 3rd place award 2 years in a row. and helping my team in 8th grade to a 3rd place award as well. My freshman season rolled around and i could not be happier and more excited. I started that season and averaged about 12 points per game that season. With an All tourney award at one tournament and an MVP award at another tournament. Sophomore season arrived and i did not get moved up to varsity right away because in a small school that needed to make cuts was more than enough players, so my coach did not find it necessary to move me up. I played about a quarter of the season on JV and averaged 14.3 PPG, With players not making grades and a lot of inuries to come, it caused players not to play and my coach acted on moving me up to the varsity level. I was scoreless in my first 3 games for reasons i cannot explain. But if you cancel those three games out, the rest of the season i averaged 5.8 PPG. Junior year was here and it was time for me to find out who i really was as a player. There was another player on my team that was better and known as the captain, but i strived the whole year to become that better player on the team and have my players look at me as the go to guy. As the season progressed my teammates started recognizing me as more of a team player. The other player was a senior and wasnt playing for the team and was playing for himself and trying to boost his stats for college. I was getting the ball more, playing harder, and some games scoring more. I finished the season with 10 PPG with 2 All Tourney Awards. I know those arent the best stats in the world but if you recognize me as a team player, a captain, and a leader for a basketball team, i ask that you please notice me and possibly recruit me. Playing Division 1 college basketball is my ultimate dream/goal in life and would be honored to play for any D1 school. My preferene is to go to the University of Oregon, but i keep my options open.
