Personal Statement
I started playing basketball in the third grade and I loved it right away. I loved the pace of the game and the combination of skill and strategy needed to play at a high level. I am also drawn to the competitiveness of the game. Basketball has taught me valuable lessons about life. In both life and basketball, hard work and commitment are required to accomplish goals. Also basketball has taught me the value of team work and that success is easier to reach when you aren't alone.
I have had to be disciplined and manage my time well in order to achieve and maintain a 4.0 GPA. Succeeding in the classroom is very important to me. Also I have developed leadership skills through experiences in ASB and other leadership programs like the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at school. Through my responsibilities in the classroom and as a part of clubs, I have shown myself to be dependable and to be a young man of integrity. In college, I plan to major in kinesiology or exercise science. I am also interested in sports management and business management degrees because after college I hope to either start my own physical therapy clinic or be involved in the strength and conditioning business.
