Drew Rodriguez '23 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Drew Rodriguez and I'm 17 years old.  I have been playing basketball since the age of 5.  From that time, I've played in community programs, YMCA, NJB, travel teams and most recently in high school.  My Freshman year, I received the Coach's award and I just finished my Sophomore season where I was awarded Offensive Player of the Year on the Varsity team.  I also broke an existing school record for highest Free Throw percentage in a season at 83.1 percent.

I've been told by my coaches that I'm very coachable, have a good attitude and have a passion for the game of basketball.  During Covid, I wanted to keep up my skills, so I worked out daily doing speed drills in my backyard, working on my strength with bands, lifting weights and shooting daily in my driveway.  I know it takes hard work to succeed and I'm willing to put in the work to play in college.  I also know, it takes hard work to get good grades in order to get a good college education and to pursue my dream of playing college basketball.
